Legal reporting obligation

For TFZO caregivers

You will be informed in writing by the office staff if you are required to register. If you have any questions, please contact the coordination specialist. Daycare families who are required to register must do so with their local municipality no later than three months after the reporting obligation arises.

When is a daycare family required to register?

Registration requirement§3

1 Anyone who offers childcare services for at least one child for at least 25 hours per week in return for payment and has a maximum of six places available is required to register.

2 Children up to the age of 18 months occupy one and a half places.

3 The registration requirement must be fulfilled within three months of starting the activity that requires registration.

The following are not considered daycare children

  • Own children
  • Children whose parents are relatives
  • Children who are visiting

Competent supervisory authority

Supervision is the responsibility of the daycare family's municipality of residence. Municipalities may perform this task themselves or delegate it to external agencies.
