History

For more than 20 years we have been committed to providing professional supplementary childcare in qualified daycare families.

In 2005, the three existing daycare associations Bubikon-Dürnten-Fischenthal-Rüti-Wald, Aathal-Seegräben-Wetzikon, and Gossau-Grüningen merged to form the “Tagesfamilienverein Bezirk Hinwil” (Hinwil District Daycare Association). A year later, the Hinwil Daycare Association joined them.

In 2009, various municipalities in the Pfäffikon district decided to enter into a service agreement with us. This resulted in another name change to “Tagesfamilienverein Bezirk Hinwil/Pfäffikon” (Hinwil/Pfäffikon District Day Care Association).

After further new municipalities and mergers of daycare associations in the districts of Uster and Pfäffikon, the association's name changed again in 2014 to the organization “Tagesfamilien Zürcher Oberland” (Zurich Oberland Daycare Association).

In 2026 Expansion of the organisation's service area to include the Lake Zurich region, including the takeover of childminding services in Rapperswil-Jona, resulting in the new name "Tagesfamilien Zürichsee Oberland".

We have now concluded service agreements with 33 municipalities.

Tagesfamilien Zürichsee Oberland is a non-profit organization and is structured as an association. It consists of active and passive members, made up of parents and caregivers, as well as a board and an administrative office.

The office is operationally active and acts as the interface between the caregiver and the parents. The organizational structure consists of the areas of office management, coordination, support for the Hinwil and Pfäffikon districts, support for the Uster district, education, and finance.

Tagesfamilien Zürichsee Oberland is a member of kibesuisse, the national association for childcare in Switzerland. As a member, TFZO is committed to complying with minimum standards. These include mandatory basic and continuing education for caregivers, as well as the implementation of the educational concept and code of conduct for the prevention of physical, psychological, and sexual abuse.
